The primary Enemy to Round Table Knight Sir Percival, The Red Knight had many identifications, depending on The Source Story. The Red Knight was siad to have been responsible for killing Sir Percival's Father, and thus he sought him out for many years for revenge. The Red Knight was credited with stealing several valuable possessions from King Arthur, who put Sir Percival on a Quest to recover them and bring The Red Knight to justice. Some assign the identity of The Red Knight as a Cousin to Arthur, angered at not being worthy enough ot be asked to join The Round Table Order. Whereas Percival was well liked by Arthur, his “death” would have been a major coup for The Red Knight. Although confusing in The Legend, after Percival kills The Red Knight – he takes his Armor and uses it. This creates an image of an “immortal” Knight who cannot be slain in battle. Other Knights are credited with Red Armor at some point in The Legend. Gawain and Galahad are among some who did.
