A phenomenon dating to 1960 – The ''Paulding Light'' is indicative to Paulding, Michigan (US). Several local Legends assign either that the ''Light'' is the Ghost of a Railroad Worker – accidentally killed and still ''on duty'' with ''Lantern'' in hand – or the Spirit of a Native American who was murdered by local Townspeople in the 1870s. In a more logical vein – Science states that both swamp gases reacting to various atmospheric (electrical) phenomenon, ''spark'' to create what appears to be a ''moving Light'' which ''disappears'' prior to close contact. Some, upon hearing of the Urban Legend – have created Hoaxes to maintain the ''Ghost Light'' illusion.
