A Hawaiian Myth, The ''Night Marchers'' are said to be a ''Phantom Army'' from Hawaiian Pre-History. This ''Force'' had several origin stories. One, is that it was a defeated Army, cursed forever to wander The Islands for their ''loss''. Another, is that it is an army of Ancestors who constantly ''patrol'' The Islands (as a whole), ''protecting it'' from attack. It was a common belief by Native Islanders, especially during World War II, when Japanese attack was said to be imminent. An interesting side story is that ''seeing'' The Army is one thing, ''crossing their path'' is quite another. IF a person crosses The Armies path, they will be killed. If one is (unknowingly) a Descendant of an ''Army Warrior'', the Ghostly cry of ''Nau'' is heard. This is supposedly Hawaiian for ''MINE (thus identifying the transgressor as a descendant). As such, The Army will pass them by.
