Built in the 14th Century AD – the wooden and Gold inlaid Crucifix of The Town of San Marcello (Rome, Italy), is known for several ''miracles'' within The Western Catholic Church. The first, relates to a bout of The Plague in 1522 AD. Half of The City of Rome was dying from the disease. A Processional was formed, with the participants carrying The Church's Altar Cross before them. The Plaguq was said to have ''left'' Rome within 72-Hours, with those still sick – being ''healed'' within several weeks after. In another ''incident'' in 1530 AD, The Church caught fire and completely burned down to it's stone foundations. The only thing left standing – unharmed, was The Crucifix. The Church immediately recognized the Crucifix as a ''Holy Relic'' and began to use it in many Processions. Some Historians cite that this was the initial beginnings as to why in Roman Ritual, The Cross is so carried before the Movement of Faithful attending a Mass or related. The Crucifix has been ''brought out'' for several other ''calamities'' in History, most recently – The COVID-19 Pandemic in Italy.
