In a Belief dating to Rome's ''Kingdom Period'' dating to the 7th Century BC, The ''Twelve Shields'' or from The Greek word ''Anciles'', were seen as a sacred, physical component related to The Founding and continued Sovereignty of The Kingdom. The Shield were displayed in The King's Palace. The Shields were from the original 12 Warriors who defended Rome. However, to confuse potential thieves (whereas The Shields have been said to be made of Silver, Gold and precious jewels), Copies were made. The originals location was never let known. It was said that as long as they are ''safe'' so too would be Rome. The story lingered into The Republican Era, but was little more than mythos by Rome's institution as an ''Empire''.
