Although Ancient Greek mythology never explained the exact origins of The Teumessian Fox, it was said to be a gigantic beast, which terrorized Greece. Some state that The Fox was visited upon Man by Dionysus as punishment for failure to properly honor Him. The King of Thebes came up with a solution to His vexment. He prayed to Zeus for help, who sent a massive Canine to hunt and kill The Fox. However, this caused some resentment on Mount Olympus. As such, Zeus turned both beasts into stone and cast them into The Heavens. They are now ''seen'' as The Constellations Canis Major and Canis Minor (The ''Dog'' Star and ''Fox'' Star).
