Of Philippine Mythology, The ''Sirena'' may be a form of The Spanish Siren. Both are similar in many aspect. In short, ''Sirena'' is a Mermaid-like Creature (Female), noted for living in Coastal Caves and secreted Beaches. Some variation give them the ''Half Human, Half Fish'' appearance, while other give them a ''Half Bird, Half Human'' form. In both cases, they have the ability to make wonderful music and have the ''voices of Angels''. Like The European Mermaid, ''Sirena'' like to bewitch Sailors drawing them from their duties aboard Ship to live with them, as well as to be used as Mates. Unfortunately, after such ''Love'', Sirena then eats Her Mate providing food for Herself and Her Young.
