While much is NOT known about the mythology behind The Philippine Island's ''Entity'' called The Santelmo, the legends were made known to European Explorers in the 16th Century AD. According to native traditions, the curious creature is actually two Beings from one. Often described as ''Imp-like'', they are ''glowing orbs of light'' (sometimes even fire of yellow and white). The Santelmo is always in opposition with itself and fights itself. As such, the Filipino associate the creature with appearing before good friends begin to have a quarrel. Other variations have The Santelmo appearing at the scenes of terrible accidents, drawn to such locations by sensing anger and misery.
