In Europe's Baltic Region, ''Ragana'' was a Goddess most associated with Female Childbirth and other biological functions of the body. Examples date to Neolithic Times, make ''Her'' one of the oldest myths of that geography. Well established with Paganism, by th establishment of Christianity, Ragana took on a more demonic personae. She began a Hag or Witch, who the Avian Raptor species Owl was closely associated with. See was a ''stealer'' of infant Souls and hordes unbaptized ones as Her slaves. Never seen during daylight hours, when the iconic ''hooting'' of Owls was heard – Ragana was not far behind.
