From the Southeastern European Nation of Albania, ''Prende'' was a Pagan Goddess associated with several elements of weather. In ancient times, Prende was the wife of The God of Thunder and Sky known as Perendi. When angered, He would smite the land with storms and bad weather. As a means of calming Him, and giving hope to man, Prende would transform Herself into bands of colors and rise into The Sky. This was said to be the genesis of The Rainbow. When Christianity (Catholic) became dominant, Prende would be associated with both Anne (Mother of Mary), and of Mary Herself. Her personification in later Art is that of an Angel.
