An Ancient Aztec Myth, Iztaccihuatl was a Princess of that Empire. She married (against her Father, The King's wishes, one of His Warriors- Popocatepetl. The King decided to rid Himself of the problem, by sending His Son-in-Law into a battle, which was certain death. When word came to the Palace, telling of Popocatepetl's death, His Wife was so filled with grief, that She killed Herself. As you can guess, Popocatepetl returned from Battle. Upon learning of His loss, He took Iztaccihuatl far into the wilderness and buried Her on the open plain. He knelt at Her grave and stayed with Her until His own death. The Gods were so taken by this act, that they turned the two into the mountains which bear their names even today. Both are actually semi-active volcanoes. On occasion, both erupt – as of means of ''communicating with each other''.
