As we have seen, The Ancient Greeks associated acts of Nature and Humanity with various Gods and Goddesses. Emotions, physical reactions to The Earth, etc – were all thought to be influenced by them. The natural act of decomposition too, had an assigned Deity – and this was ''Phthsis''. Rot, decay and such, as said to His ''invention'' and needed to maintain the ''Balance of Nature'' (which was good). Therefore, the any lack of such was seen as Evil or relating to Demoniac influence. When adapted into Ancient Roman Belief, He became ''Tabes''.
