In Yoruban (West Africa) Mythology ''Oshun'' is the name given to The Supreme Creator God in feminine form. She controls Love, Beauty, Fertility and femininity. Associated with the color White, Oshun is also sought out for protection of water sources. Shrines dedicated to Her are normally small Houses. Small circular wooden fans known as Abebes are placed inside (seen as Her Icon). Oshun is also associated with God (and is at times portrayed as a Human female clothed in gold finery).
