Associated with The West african Yoruba Religions, an Opele was a type of hand-made necklace or chain used for Divination. They were seen important to re-establishing ''harmony'' with The God's and oneself. Made from Ilkin Seeds (attached) to a string or leather sinew, the carrying on an Opele was seen as a very important commitment to The Gods. Modern versions are now made with small chains.
