In The HP Lovecraft Universe, many later Writers inspired by His ''Worlds'' of Horror and Terror. A resurgence of interest in Lovecraft's works in the 1970s and 1980s led to filling in The Cthulhu Universe''. British Author Brian Lumley did just that in His 1987 ''Mad Moon of Dreams''. One of the ''nightmares'' created was The Oorn. A Snail (or Slug-like) Creature, ''Oorn'' is a ''She''. Massive in size, Oorn regurgitates a slimy digestive substance on ''objects'' She wishes to devour. Trapped in this viscus, Her prey slowly ''melts'' allowing Oorn to consume them easily. She is worshiped by Slaves from Leng (Humans).
