The term ''Multo'' is one of Philippine origins used to describe a ''Ghost'' or ''Spirit''. The terms applies to both ''Good and Bad'' varieties. Akin to most reasons ''why'' such Apparitions are created either by dying too soon (not living ''a full life''), or having a desire to ''finish'' a needed task. Another popular reason assigned by Filipinos are that a person returns due to a violent death and needs to seek retribution and justice. Spiritual Possession by ''Multos'' (taking over a Living Person), are also a very popular belief. Some Multos take on a frightening appearance (covered in blood is quite popular), while others simply resemble themselves ''in Life''. These ''Living Memories'' are often portrayed in Art and Visual Media (Film), as being ''very White in overall appearance and wearing all White garments'' (common with Funerary Customs).
