The ''Kushtaka'' is a myth that is indicative to several Northwestern American Native Tribes. The name is translated to ''Land Otter Man''. They are classed as ''Shapeshifters'' and can assume the guise of both animal and Human. While they have the body of a Man, they have the Head of The Otter. Most versions of their tale, have The Kushtaka luring Native American Hunters far from their Hunting Grounds, assuming the appearance of much needed Herds. Once lost, The Kushtaka use their ''powers'' to summon great winter storms. The Hunters will then die as a result. The primary goal in The Kushtaka tales are cautionary. Hunters should never ''take after'' easily gotten Prey during a Hunt...they are probably Kushtaka!
