Part of South India's Ayyavazhi Religious Beliefs, ''Kroni'' was the personification for Evil within that Culture. The Demon hated Humankind, and it was His ''mission'' to cause all manner of pain and discomfort. Kroni was said to have been so hungry (once), that He drank (almost) all water in The World, just to cause Man to thirst. However, when Kroni attempted to devour The Universe to deprive The Heavens of all Life, The great God Shiva intervened. Shiva cut Kroni into six pieces and scattered them throughout The World. Greatly lessened in power, Kroni is not dead however. Each piece of His body is seen as being responsible for the Evils which Man visits upon His fellow Man.
