Kokou

Relative to The Yoruba Region (Nigeria), Africa - ''Kokou'' was a Native God of The Underworld which was adopted by The Voodoo (Voodu) Religion. Kokou is greatly feared. The invoking of ''His'' Spirit (into a Human Host), is very dangerous. The God greatly relishes blood, and is known to cause His Hosts to consume glass or try to injure themselves in such a way as to bleed profusely. This brings Kokou ''great pleasure'' (although perhaps not so much to His Host when they recover). He is portrayed in Art as a Shaman (Witch Doctor).
