The Ancient Egyptian God of The Moon, Khonsu was responsible for nightly voyages which provided light for a deceased Pharaoh's Great ''Solar Barge'' (Ship). The Barge (as we have seen), makes a nightly trip through The Afterlife as a means of ferrying The Pharaoh to His destination. Khonsu also gives light to Ra at night. Khonsu is portrayed as a Human with a large celestial body (The Moon), over His head. He was another God linked closely to The Egyptian Creation myths. Several Temples in Thebes were built in His honor.
