In Greek Mythology, ''Iapetus'' was one of The ''6'' Male Titans. These were seen as preceding The Olympians in age or existing before time as Gods. They were overthrown by Zeus and became the sources if much Greek Mythology. Iapetus was one such. Among some of His progeny, was Atlas. He is seen as The ''Father of Man''. Iapetus is also associated with The Judaic Biblical Japheth, Son of Noah (seen by some as The ''Progenitor'' of Humankind'', Post-Flood).
