 According to various early Medieval British Folk Tales, ''Henwen'' was a mythical Sow (Pig) – who gave birth to Cath Palug. This was the ''Monster Feline'' who battled Sir Kay during His Quest – as detailed in ''Le Mort d'Arthur'' (the tale of King Arthur).Later, Henwen was associated with the concept of ''The Seven Deadly Sins''.
