Located in Salzburg, Austria Moosham Castle was built in the 13th Century as a defensive Fortification. It saw more ''service'' as a Witches prison and was the scene of hundreds of executions mostly by beheading. Between 1675 and 1690, persons suspected of and convicted of Witchcraft and related Heresy were imprisoned within The Castle's dungeons. Hapless souls from 10 years to 80 were horribly treated there. Aside from beheading, hand and feet were sliced off and all manner of mutilating torture was performed. Visitors and Caretakers of The Castle tell of seeing ''strange white Mists'' often floating through The Castle. In addition, the feeling of ''hands'' and being ''touched'' are very common. In one of the rooms, said to have been the living quarters of the Head Torturer, a strong feeling of ''darkness and dread'' is felt. Another strange occurrence is the occasional finding of slaughtered animals such as deer surrounding the base of The Castle. Locals state that it is the cause of a Werewolf. This legend goes back to the 1800s.
