The so called ''Dead Sea Apes'' are actually Humans, who had lived along the forbidding Dead Sea. These people broke the Sabbath often and as punishment, God turned them into mindless Simians. They are dimwitted and will attack those who venture into their ''territories''. Modern Scholars link these legends as metaphor to those who fail to yield to God's Law.
