Another Japanese ''Good Luck'' artifact – a Daruma Doll is a symbol of Good Luck thru Perseverance. These are small, wooden or ceramic Rounded ''Dolls'', typically painted Red, and featuring the face of an Old Man. This represents The Founder of the Zen Buddhist Philosophy. Found in Temples and Shrines, Daruma Dolls were made ''commercially'' available in the 18th Century for use in Home Altars.
