In Irish Mythology, ''Boann'' was a Goddess linked to having created The Boyne River (a major life line for trade and food in Ireland's Medieval Era). Boann ''gave'' The Boyne to Humans as a means of survival, and the River would become an important symbol in Irish History. She is portrayed in Art and Literature as a ''beautiful and wise Woman''. Boann's origin may be quite older however, with comparisons to pre-Celtic (Pagan) Beliefs and well as a compilation of Pagan and Roman Deities.
