Most indicative to British, Scottish, Irish and Welsh Mythology – The ''Black Dog'' appears in many Legends and Tales. The Beast – while portrayed as Canine – is most often associated with Evil, in particular The Devil. In most stories, The Black Dog is the personification of Satan or some related Demon. In some versions, The Black Dog is a ''portent of Death'', that if seen – will hasten One's demise.
