In Balinese Mythology, ''Bhoma'' was the offspring of two Gods, born horrible to behold (whereas The Gods were forbidden to procreate). Despite this, Bhoma was ''blessed'' to protect Temples and Shrines from Demons. His frightening visage aids Him in this occupation. This Bhoma figures are carved into Balinese Temples prominently to ''ward off'' any approaching Entities. In other use, Bhoma is also placed onto various personal jewelry and worn as a type of protection from Evil as well.
