The Burmese have a mythology regarding Entities known as ''Nats''. These are various Classes of Spirits, who are both ''Good and Evil''. They are most portrayed in Art as small Dolls with ''life-like'' faces. One such is ''Bago Medaw''. She is Patron and Protector of one of the most important of Family possessions – The Water Buffalo. These animals are seen as the main ability to produce crops in farming (much as an Oxen was in Medieval Europe). Bago Medaw watches over those animals, keeping them from harm. She wears a Buffalo Skull cap, and wears a Buffalo hide. Her Icon can be found in many Farmer's Homes, even today.
