A fixture among The Tewa Tribe of Pueblo Native Americans, Awanyu was a Creator God dating to 1,000 AD. Described as a ''Great Feathered Serpent'', Awanyu created The Sky and The Earth. It was He who gave dominion over such to The Tewa People.
