In Danish Folklore, The ''Askafroa'' is said to be thousands of years old. ''She'' is a form of Elemental Spirit, relating for some to Pagan Ritual. Sacrifices (often Blood) would be made to the oldest Ash Tree in a Forest. Inside this tree, it was assumed The Askafroa lived. By saying various incantations, it was hoped that The Spirit would cause no harm. Failure to do so meant The Askafroa would harm Hunters and affect Crops until a suitable sacrifice was made.
