From Ancient Roman Mythology – Abundantia was seen as The Goddess of Abundance and Prosperity. While She was associated with Financial Wealth - Abundantia would also be used to invoke a good and proper Harvest (oir for the production of much food stuffs). Roman Commerce relied on Abundantia Cults with offerings to protect Commerce and increase Trade. Portrayed as a Female of ''Large Size''. This Cultural norm came from the fact that a Man was wealthy when He could provide much food to His Wife and Family. The ''heavier'' The Wife or Woman, the more wealth was assumed. Hence, Abundantia was portrayed in Art as such.
