You know you can count on me as well! :D In fact, I cannot promise I will come, but if it turns out that I'm not be able to come and play at that time, I will tell you here about that. :) Later we can deal to play some Stronghold 1 game - those games with teams were real fun. :) EDIT: As about some the map, I would suggest The Wet Land. I'd say this map is balanced, all have some oasis, some more stone, and there is pitch in the marches. There is also iron in the middle of the map, and we would have to fight over it. :) Although I'd say none will be able to get those iron easily from there, as those are far from defenders castle enough, and one could easily set it to fire, and also close to enemies castle enough so he could destroy iron mines from his castle of with catapults.

I have created some English crest on my own, I hope you will like it. :) You may see them in my Stronghold 2 crests tread. Crest files are displayed in the first post of the topic.
-
Thanks, fellowslothb! :) Right now I have also uploaded some more crests; these are created after various coats of arms of medieval England. You may find them in the first post in this tread, and here are some pictures, so you may see how they look like in the game.

Hi, in this topic I shall post some custom crests I have crested, and you may ask me to create any crest you like. Here are the ones I created after coat of arms of Serbian empire (1346-1371), nowadays coat of arms of Serbia, and coat of arms of medieval kingdom of Serbia. Here are crests created after medieval English coats of arms. These are royal arms of England (1198-1340), arms of William the Conqueror (1066-1087), royal arms of England (1189-1198) and royal arms of England (1154-1189). Also, I have submitted Stronghold Nations crests to downloads section. You can download them from here. Here you can see the pictures of them. I will explain later, how you can easily create custom crests on your own. For now, I will be creating Stronghold 2 crests by your wishes. For those who like to experiment - I suggest them to try to do this using Gimp. If you want to see how these custom crests look like in the game, here is one example. These are knights and swordsmen having my personal crest on their shields, but you may see the same one on flags and shields on buildings. Also, you may take a look at this picture - these are swordsmen and knights with medieval Serbian crest.
-
I could do that, but I'd more gladly make a new custom crest, you desire. You describe me what you wish, and I would make it. :) I could make a new tread for this, just like I have one for Stronghold Crusader faces. As I see you are from England, maybe you would like some of those to be used in creating the crest for you? Also, this one crest with eagle - I designed it to be my own crest, and I use it in Stronghold Crusader and Stronghold Europe as my crests (faces), I use it as avatar at Stronghold Heaven and here, and now in Stronghold 2 as well. :) If you still want it more to have this one in your game, I would send you it at your email. Only I would more gladly create you another one, and that would take me any time at all, as it is way simpler than in Stronghold Crusader. :) In fact, I will start that topic right now, and I will there some other crest I had created before.
-
Thanks, I'm glad you like it. :) I really like how it is possible to customize all flags, shields and other stuff, by simply changing crest1.png file. Pity how it cannot be seen by others in multiplayer, but still, great thing! I will upload it right now. :)
-
This is what I wanted to post in this tread. :D As you will not see my crest in multiplayer, this is what I wanted you too see. :) Sorry for those posting in wrong tread, I will pay more attention next time.

Outposts in skirmish maps?
EaglePrince replied to EaglePrince's topic in Stronghold Crusader & Crusader Extreme
It was a great fight, I'd call it an epic battle! :) It took me some time win the game. You may see it by the year from the screenshot... I wouldn't agree at this one... There are more possibilities - this time the ally was the first target, but it could have happened that the enemy attacks you first. As far as I saw, in this case your ally does help you a lot, as he sends some men between you too, so you have less to worry about that side of your castle! This way, you have more oasis which is easier to defend. Also, you get more stone. So, it is a nice thing to have an ally - he may give you some time to prepare for massive attacks, or he may help you defending your quarries, woodcutters in the west, and farms west of your castle. As about different opponents - I believe there is no significant difference between those, if we speak about controlling troops from his outposts. In the other hand, some opponents will be way harder to kill just like that. For example, Snake will always use spearmen and archers to defend his castle, and he would never send some swordsmen to his own keep. :( Also, there will certainly be differences in attacks - some would build more trebuchets and catapults, some would use more fire ballistae, and some would use none of those. But if we wanted to feel those differences, we would have to give the enemy more resources. He must be able to build as mush quarries as he wants, as mush mines as he want, and oasis, of course... If he need iron to produce weapons, but he has to buy it, he would be building less siege weapons as well. Thanks, it was a great castle. :) And it had even more crossbowmen. I had then so much - many of them were placed on the wall, as towers were full. On this image, great part of those troops were sent from the walls, so they could protect farms and quarries, as they were not necessary on castle walls anymore. I know I had more than 300 crossbowmen at some moment! And, no, this is the map with outpost. I don't know if I would make it without outpost, without using the powers... I may try later, but I believe that if I fought without outposts, I would have to attempt to win the game in the same way you did - going around his army with some men, and send them directly to his keep to kill him. (swordsmen are my favorite troops, so I guess I would try to do it with them, and I would try to use rams or siege towers) Yes, it is not too hard, it is just hard enough to be quite a challenge! :) As about an idea for your next map... What do you think about placing the keep which is meant for human lord to be places in a valley? That would be a disadvantage, compared to a keep on high ground, but this way, one could dig a moat around his castle? :) -
Outposts in skirmish maps?
EaglePrince replied to EaglePrince's topic in Stronghold Crusader & Crusader Extreme
I have just finished my fight! It was really hard, I had to start the mission two times. I was playing with Pig as my ally, and against Wazir. In the first attempt I failed to win, as I underestemated the opponent in one moment. I had it under control, but in some moment, I had lost some crossbowmen from the walls, and the attacking army was massive... They didn't enter the castle, but those army was destroying my economy and everything I had outside the castle walls. I was getting less wheat, less iron, no stone, and no wood, while some buildings were in fire... Before I came into this situation, I attemped to destroy his outposts with my knights, but that was a complete failure -I destroyed only one outpost. After that I was not able to build such an army again, and send it to do this task. In the second attempt I was training crossbowmen all the time, as I was worried I might get in the same possition, as in the first attempt, and I had to use some more tactic... Crossbowmen and mangonels simply weren't enough! I also build few trebuchets inside my castle, so I could throw cows at the enemy army! In this second attempt, I didn't send knights alone - I had to this in smarter way as well! I trained knights again, but I sent lots of swordsmen and catapults as well. This was way more effective, and this way I managed to destroy the outposts, and then it was all way easier. There were only two more of them left, but I have returned for them soon, after what I finished my castle. Later, I have sent an army to kill Wazir, which was not a difficult task, as he was weakened a lot after losing the outposts. Speakinga bout my ally - I wasn't able to save him, and I believe there is no way to do it - at lest if you start the game with 4.000 gold and without using powers... I agree it is sometimes easier to defend someone else then your own castle, as this way your economy is not being effected, but Wazir manages to kill him too soon, after what I'm left alone... This is my castle, and those are the walls that withstanded massive attacks! In his peak, Wazirs army had more then 1.500 men. For all those who didn't play this map yet, I suggest them to download it, as soon as it is available in the downloads section, and wage this glorious battle! The map is called Abertine! -
Outposts in skirmish maps?

I will attemt to accomplish the same this evening, only without using powers. :) By the way, you didn't say, who did you choose to be your ally? It was a really nice battle there, I can see. :) -

I will try to revenge you, my friend. :) I didn't have time to check those maps, but I hope I will be able to do that this evening. :) Or maybe tommorow. -
Outposts in skirmish maps?

There where is challenge, there I come! Count on me. :) -
Thanks, Chris! So, there is no way to use it in multiplayer so other would see your crest... As about the tutorial, I did know about that - there are some more suggested crests I could use, and there is always the option to make a new png file yourself. It's a pity that this thing is done this way in Stronghold 2... They could more similar to Stronghold Crusader - all of them have their own crests, only in different colors, and you to be able to chose which crest to use. :(
-
Hi, I wanted to ask you, if you know if it's possible to change your crest in Stronghold 2 in multiplayer? I am aware of that it is possible in singleplayer and in multiplayer as well, but I don't know if it's possible to make it visible to other players? I'm wondering does it work the same way as in Stronghold Crusader, where everyone can see my custom made face or crests in the multiplayer game?
-
Hm, I didn't know he is know as Charles of Tours as well. That's a pretty interesting choice, now I see you have a really nice username. :) As about visiting Europe - there will be time for that, I'm sure. :) It does look nice. :)
-
I think it would be more more accurate, if you extended the borders to Iberia. As about the south Italy - I am sure you know more about Franks than I do. :) Oh, and by the way, I never asked you... Is your name here Charles of Tours because of the Battle of Tours, or that's just because you live near it? I must add, that is one of my favorite battles from that period. EDIT: As about making something to glow, I am not entirely sure how to do it in Gimp - only I do know how to accomplish it in Corel PhotoPaint.
-
It looks really nice. :) Although I didn't know he rules south Italy, as well? This is what I was aware of. Nevertheless, on neither of those maps Francia didn't rule on territory where Serbia was. So I'm cool with all that. :D I'm just kidding about this one :) , but the signature is good looking. Only thing I am noticing is that the symbol of Carolus Magnus is black and in front of dark background. It's not visible so much, if it could be in a different color, it would be more visible. Also, instead of making it in another color, you can make it glow - that way it would be more visible. :) I'm not completely aware how to do in in Gimp, for example, but I guess you should place the symbol in a new layer, and than to place lighting at the background, after which you would set the layer of the symbol to be in front of all layers.

I will write some stuff, but I believe it will be in a separate topic. Only I'm not sure where to open this one, and to be relatively easy to find. Anyway, as it does not belong to Stronghold Crusader, Stronghold 2, or some specific game, I believe it will be in "off topic", and I shall add a link to this one in my Stronghold Crusader faces and crests tread, and in my "creating your own Stronhold 2 crests" which will be created by the time. Until I do it, I will just recommend Gimp as an excellent image manipulation program that is free, and you may ask me here whatever you want. I will be happy to help, if I know to do, what you are trying to accomplish. As about creating faces and crests for Stronghold Crusader, you may ask me about that in that tread. :)
-
It does look nice, Charles! Now I see, you don't seem like someone who could use some help. :) EDIT: This one smaller isn't too small at all. This way you also have some more space where you could add your username. Left of this picture, or something like that. :)
-
I'm glad to hear you're taking part in this as well, Charles of Tour! By the way, are you, Lords Chris, taking part in this competition too? I'm asking this, cause I see you've created a nice signature, you linked it to this tread, but didn't write anything yet. Also, I wanted to ask you... If someone could use it, I would write some advices or short tutorials about working with graphic programs? Only those parts that might be useful for created Stronghold Crusader faces, Stronghold 2 crests, and these banners... Although for some people who like to play around is the most important, and the most useful, only to know what program to use. Speaking about free programs, I would recommend Gimp. It's really a great program considering the fact it is free! Maybe a better thing, than making tutorials, would be starting a tread, where people might know that they can ask concrete question?
-
I believe it is pretty hard for someone to like things like steam. :/ Even without willing to mod the game, or anything else, it bothers me if I must have another program to play this game... It is unnecessary (to anyone except to them). I will try to find it in my city, I still find it is a better option. Thanks for your help.
-
Although people do say Steam complicates things, this thing does seem better for me, but only if there was only Stronghold 2 alone. Or at least if there would be Stronghold 2 and Stronghold Legends in one pack. If not, I will try to find in the store, where I bought some games before, in my city. If only they have it, or if they can order it for me. Thanks for hep. :) EDIT: Also, if I bought the game from Steam, would it then be possible to play in multiplayer from two PC's? Or, maybe I should ask my self, is it possible to install it at two PC's at all..? :/
-
Thanks! I will take a look at it there. Also, is there an option to buy Stronghold 2, but not to wait for this delivery? So I could pay for it, and download the game (dvd image file, or the two cd image files) at the same time? I hope there is an option for this.
-
Hi, as it is possible now to play Stronghold 2 in multiplayer now (at GameRanger), I wanted to ask you few questions... One is, where would you suggest me to buy Stronghold 2? And the other thing is, is it possible to buy Stronghold 2, and use this same copy on two of my computers? Also, is it possible to have a miltiplayer game from both those computers at the same time? Thanks in advance! Regards, EaglePrince.

Speaking about history, I like to know as much as possible. :) I'm glad you agree. By the way, nice banner - I guess it was a great fight.
