Sending custom maps in stronghold crusader HD

Recommended Posts

Hello all!, I'm having a problem with custom maps. I have owned the original stronghold series since it's launch back in 1999 (i think). I bought Stronghold crusader on steam as me and my family were having problems connecting using the original disks and steam made it easy for multiplayer.

I made a custom map today as i had not done so in ages and if i remember rightly when someone who didn't have the map wanted to play you could hit a button and the map would automatically be sent to their computer.?

When two friends joined my multiplayer game the 'send custom map button' was not there, was this feature removed in the steam version?

I'm not 100% sure with Crusader. However, I'm sure?@EaglePrince will be able to help you out better than I can! I do know however that in Stronghold 2, the map automatically downloads for newly joined players. Perhaps the Steam edition took this approach?

As for your custom map, we'd love to all have the chance to play it! If you feel like sharing, you can upload your map here on SHN, using this link - https://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/submit/

Yup, that's approximately how it should work. You scroll through your maps, and when you're at a map you want to play with others, you press Send map (or something similar), and the others have to press Receive map (or something similar). They need to accept the map to be sent to them.

However, on some occasions I too was not able to send a map like that. Then we would all leave the game, and try it again.

I have to note that it is necessary for all players to have the same version of the game. If one of you have Steam version, then it is the HD. Then everybody else must have the latest HD version as well.

What versions do the others have? If they don't have the latest patch, they should be able to download it from the official Crusader HD website.

DO KEEP IN MIND that those who have older versions should be advised to backup their entire cfg files from Documents\Stronghold Crusader. Because after playing 1.4 this file would become useless with 1.1 and 1.2 versions. Thus if they decide to reinstall 1.1 or 1.2, they would lose their campaign and Crusader Trail progress.

Also, I don't have Steam versions of Crusader installed, but I believe they haven't removed this feature from the game. Though even if they had, you can send the file to your friends via Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. But I'm pretty confident that you didn't have this options because of some temporary issues, or due to incompatible versions of the game.

1.1 and 1.2 are compatible with each other.

1.3 is only compatible with itself.

1.4 is only compatible with itself.

If my reply doesn't help, and you have any further questions, do ask. :)

Hello Everyone! SHC:DE was given a small update (v2.7.1), bringing a few options to the AI department: "Aggressive AI Sieging" This Skirmish/Multiplayer option slightly tweaks the siege force troops aggression. When enabled, the AI will send larger forces to attack rivals, as well as stationary troops will be more likely to engage hostile buildings in their close vicinity. The option seems to very slightly alleviate the weakness of the siege AI, where troops

Years ago, with some realism, I have imagined and documented Sarum Castle — a formidable fortress along the North Norfolk Coast in England during the early 1400s fully sustained by its household and town. Key features which you can consider for your own castle: Concentric design: Two defensive layers around the keep, with moats, drawbridges and barbicans. Defensive tricks: Trebuchets, mangonels, ballistas, rolling logs, oil and stone tippers along different hidden traps and k

As the title says I don't know if I want to post on the Steam workshop anymore. Ever since March I've had people raging at me for how supposedly difficult or unfair my maps are. And ya know what? Alright that's fine. Haters gonna hate right? Now most of the maps I've seen on the SHL workshop are usually either some user map that requires players to spam troops or a skirmish map. To my surprise I actually found a map that looked like it would be decent play. I skimmed the thumbnail
