Week #2 - Stronghold Legends

As the weeks progress, so do the difficulty and variety of the challenges! This week is a graphics design challenge, which is ....

 

Create an elite unit skin for archers in Stronghold Legends

 

The skin can be anything you like, from a modified unit .etc, to a completely custom-made skin - but at least 40% of the unit must be changed in some way from the original skin if that's what you use. This could be as simple as changing the colour, or a total reconstruction.

I have been tried modifying scins earlier, but i had failed.

 

And i still dont understand how to edit the skin (Windows 8.1 is able to open and edit dds files)

Without getting the whole unit white.

Did you try reading the resources provided above? These should give you some understanding of how to modify the DDS files as well as some background information on them.

Well, if you own SHC2, you also own SHC:HD and SHC:Extreme - they came as free additions to the SHC2 game.

Only if you want to give them a try :)

 

 

I will probably also pass on this challange.

Up to now, I have never modded a game and I feel that I am miles behind in that art - too far behind to produce anything reasonable within 1 week.

 

I don't mean to say that I will pass on every modding challenge - only this one comes too early in the year for me to take it on.

But it is never too late to start learning something new. So hopefully I will be able to mod something later in the year.

Aha, Lord Nigel!

 

I actually own every copy of Stronghold as I have been playing since I was but a wee squire boy! The Strategist perfers to play games that are fresh to the battlefield and thus: Crusader 2!
