Stronghold 2, v1.3.1

Recommended Posts

After updating my Stronghold 2 game from v1.3 to v1.3.1 the game fails to launch. Instead, I see the "working" mouse cursor and then it disappears, looking in task manager, no process of SH2 even launches, so it isn't a crash.

I tried reinstalling the game completely, to no prevail. I have updated versions of Direct X and I'm running windows 7. I never had this trouble on my laptop however, I do recall going straight from v1.3 to 1.4 on my laptop, so I never even tried v1.3.1.

I need to be able to use v1.3.1 for a project for SH2.

My PC Specs:

AMD FX-6350 Six-Core Processor (3.9GHz)

8GB DDR3 RAM

64 bit OS

1TB HDD (787GB free)

GTX 960

All help appreciated,

Thank you!

Moved to Stronghold 2.

What version did your game originally install? And where are you getting the 1.3.1 patch from?

My bad, I thought of posting it here but I was unsure :P

The disc is v1.3D (assuming the D is deluxe). I've tried the patch from a few websites, all are the same files and size, each with the same installer.

I admit it's not exactly clear, the deluxe version of the game has 1.3.1 update in by default, along with all the new features only in the deluxe version.

When you said patching up, I assumed you had an earlier version on your disk that would have likely caused problems, which is why I wanted to double check.

If you did have an earlier version, then you wouldn't have had the deluxe. It's essentially another name - just like Stronghold 3 gold which has all the updates in prior.

Years ago, with some realism, I have imagined and documented Sarum Castle — a formidable fortress along the North Norfolk Coast in England during the early 1400s fully sustained by its household and town. Key features which you can consider for your own castle: Concentric design: Two defensive layers around the keep, with moats, drawbridges and barbicans. Defensive tricks: Trebuchets, mangonels, ballistas, rolling logs, oil and stone tippers along different hidden traps and k
