Stronghold 2 crests

Recommended Posts

Hi, in this topic I shall post some custom crests I have crested, and you may ask me to create any crest you like.

Here are the ones I created after coat of arms of Serbian empire (1346-1371), nowadays coat of arms of Serbia, and coat of arms of medieval kingdom of Serbia.

Here are crests created after medieval English coats of arms.

These are royal arms of England (1198-1340), arms of William the Conqueror (1066-1087), royal arms of England (1189-1198) and royal arms of England (1154-1189).

Also, I have submitted Stronghold Nations crests to downloads section. You can download them from here.

Here you can see the pictures of them.

I will explain later, how you can easily create custom crests on your own. For now, I will be creating Stronghold 2 crests by your wishes. For those who like to experiment - I suggest them to try to do this using Gimp.

If you want to see how these custom crests look like in the game, here is one example. These are knights and swordsmen having my personal crest on their shields, but you may see the same one on flags and shields on buildings.

Also, you may take a look at this picture - these are swordsmen and knights with medieval Serbian crest.

Thanks, fellowslothb! :)

Right now I have also uploaded some more crests; these are created after various coats of arms of medieval England. You may find them in the first post in this tread, and here are some pictures, so you may see how they look like in the game.

Thank you :)

OMG good idea alert! Why don't you make a SHNation Crest! How cool would that be!

I'm glad you like it as well @fellowslothb!

I do have one idea, guys, and I will ask you for your opinion! What I want to do is to create universal Stronghold Nation crest pattern for Stronghold 2! What I think I should use is the black dragon and golden color, but this crest should also include color of the player. For example, I could make the black dragon in golden square or golden circle, so if you're player 1, your knight and swordsmen would have red shields with golden circle and the black dragon inside of it. Instead of circle, I could try making the black dragon inside golden shield, or I could also use any kind of coloring offered by Stronghold 2 default crests (located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Firefly Studios\Stronghold 2\crests\red). Right now I got feeling that, it would be the most interesting to use eight different coloring schemes.

I hope this would be really interesting for our Stronghold 2 events, but those would be interesting for skirmish games as well!

This is certainly a good idea, I like the sound of that!

That is a good idea Eagle. So the shield itself will be red/blue/orange/green etc. And then a golden dragon I'm the middle. I've been thinking of one to do myself. I'll (try my best lol) to design it on the PC when I'm home and show you guys.

That's right! Only with difference that the dragon will be red, and I want to use golden color somehow.

It's pretty easy to create a Stronghold 2 crest. If you need a program to do that, Gimp is free and pretty good program.

Could you give me a brief tutorial on how to do so. I'm familiar with GIMP but not designing such shields. Make a new topic if needed :) thank you!

Oh, I took a pic of them all but the red - the most important one. :)

It's a white crest with red dragon on it - I will post a picture of it as well.

I know I was talking about using golden color, but later I taught it will be better to use white instead of gold. This way it stays in that bright Stronghold 2 spirit. :)

ADDITION: I have added the red. Also, I haven't forgot what you asked me to do with another Welsh shield. I hope I'll do that tomorrow.
