As usual, the event will take place 6 PM UK time on the 10th of May, with a username of "stronghold nations" and password of "shnations". Please post here if you intend to join so we know how many people to expect.

I've been offline for a while, but I should be able to come on the 10th. Hopefully the connectivity is decent. Even if not, it's worth cramming in as many games before the shutdown. The date seems a little close for comfort, and it'd be nice to have a last hurrah on this game I've really only recently grown to appreciate. :)

I'm glad to hear that. We really do need to play more as well. Maybe a couple of games of Legends as well, what do you think?

I was about to suggest Legends myself. It would be fun to play as EVIL [insert maniacal laugh], and use those pesky vampires.

I agree evil would be really cool, though personally my favourite is Ice. My favourite evil unit is probably the Saxon Warrior, though the vampiric creeper is a really cool unit you're right - though extremely annoying when you lose units to it.

 

How about Legends on Sunday then, same time? If you could find a map (I'll look too) that would be great, otherwise we could use the Dragon Island one from the game as that's pretty balanced.

 

Certainly a good change from always being normal in stronghold 2 :)

Timing sounds good. I like the werewolf and Saxon warrior as well, and Ice is my second favorite faction. Those witches and giants make some pretty strong enemies.

Werewolves are great for catapulting over walls - an ideal distraction while vampiric creepers come in slyly ;)

 

My favourite ice unit is the Ice Queen. The Polar Bears and White wolves are quite effective, and the white witches are just amazing - except from when archers are around as they get decimated. Giants are best in groups of ten I'd say - at least from my own experience.

Encouraged by Lord Chris I will probably try to participate in the event :) I'm not 100% sure if I'll arrive as 6 PM is for me 7 PM and it's quite late but maybe for a while I'll be current there (I guess it'll happen on GR, won't it?). I hope my weak english won't disrupt ;)

Glad to hear you'll be joining us, we normally wait roughly fifteen minutes after the event has started for late comers anyway so you should be fine :)

The only way (that I know of) to play Stronghold 2 and Stronghold Legends multiplayer is by the in-game multiplayer lobby, hosted by GameSpy. So, nope, you don't need to be running GR while playing. :)

At least until the end of the month. There's already a thread about GameRanger at Firefly so hopefully soon after SHC2 has been released they will change to GameRanger.
