Adding messages to stronghold 2

I Know, this has often Been discussed, But i was thinking, that maybe that Action should give you the ability to play Media Files ingame.

 

If someone has an idea how someOne could add a new action.

 

Maybe we could add a new action trough the en - us?

The en us xml file is just for languages. It would require some kind of advanced modification to have the ability to add a completely new action in the editor. Personally, this is way past my level of knowledge.

Maske someone could change an existing trigger e.g. Apple blight.

I'm not entirely sure where they are stored. I've never come across them before, all I can guess is that they're hard-coded in the exe.

I got somthing running which attaches cutscenes to stronghold 2 maps.

for that we need to use the 4 chapter of the stronghold 2 campaign and than we have a map with 3 actions like this:

custom: play cutscenen.

certainly one of those is an Video cutscenen (storybook 2)

as well as that map offers the most sound messages :)

 

someone could modify a cutscene file and its animations to create something quite cool for his map :)

To be clear - chapter four of the path of peace campaign? Are there any file changes, or files that need renaming if I use that map - or will the cut scenes automatically appear?

 

If so, this is a massive breakthrough that could lead to the next Stronghold 2 revolution in modding.

Warcampaign xd, the cutscenes are aplearing automatic.

The Files which the cutscenes are using are visible by opening those(cutscene Files).

 

Open them with a Text Editor.

I'll try to take a look tomorrow - this looks amazing!

 

P.S. Attachments do work, you just need to be logged out to see them. I've fixed this in the next version of the forum.
