Vegas Pro is better for editing, but it is pretty good at recording and has a webcam feature as well. I'm going to be doing some more YouTube tutorials at some point and this should come in very handy when I do so, making it much more useful than the old Hypercam 3 :D

 

That said though, I haven't tested it with a completely full screen game yet, hopefully it should be fine.

 

What would you say about Premiere Elements?

I myself use Vegas Pro 11. I make a lot of game cinematics and Vegas pro has so many different features and it's easy to learn. I think it all comes down to preference :)

Vegas Pro will be better than Premiere Elements but it's also much more expensive. There is a nice comparison on TomsHardware by an industry professional and the reason I decided on the Adobe family is it looks like it'll be around for the forseeable future whereas Sony might not continue it's Vegas suite meaning you'll have to transition to a new editor and relearn it.
