Stronghold Warlords Demo

Recommended Posts

Just wondering which of you guys have played the Stronghold Warlords Demo yet and what you thought of it? I've had it downloaded for a while but only just got a chance to have a look at it.

I have to say, Firefly have really impressed me with how they've managed to put everything together. There's a lot of depth to the game, and it's really stable, especially considering it's just a beta/demo version. They've combined all of the best parts from both Stronghold 3 and Crusader 2 and really built on things.

Got a few screenies attached for you all

This is very interesting! I've been busy these days, and unfortunately it's going to be like this until Friday at least. It appears I missed it (or forgot) how can we get Stronghold Warlords Demo to try it? If it is available for everyone, maybe I should download it quick, maybe it won't be available for download in August, who knows. :D

From what I've seen on many videos and pictures, including your pictures right now, it's great, but I would like to see what would be the feeling of playing this game. :)

I don't think you can download it anymore now sadly, I think it was only available for a limited time. You could contact Firefly though and ask for a beta code, Nick gave me one a while back, though granted that's because I couldn't get the demo working on my new machine.

It's only a single mission to play in the demo, but by am I impressed with the work and background that's gone into it. I'm particularly interested in the concept of Peace Consulates, because it allows you (in theory) to peacefully annexe an estate instead of taking it by force. It also seems that while in previous versions of Stronghold you could just walk straight up to a neutral estate and claim it, you now need to fight off the Warlord and any army around the estate. I haven't tried using Peace Consulates yet because I'm still not quite sure how they work, but I might go back into the demo and try it again.

Years ago, with some realism, I have imagined and documented Sarum Castle — a formidable fortress along the North Norfolk Coast in England during the early 1400s fully sustained by its household and town. Key features which you can consider for your own castle: Concentric design: Two defensive layers around the keep, with moats, drawbridges and barbicans. Defensive tricks: Trebuchets, mangonels, ballistas, rolling logs, oil and stone tippers along different hidden traps and k
