I know we are going more and more off topic and at some point it might be worth putting this into it's own thread. But does it only affect online purchases? Or am I at risk if I am online in general (download maps, play MP games)? Sorry if you think this is obvious - but I am not really so deep into the technical side of this - I need a simple yes/no answer, if there is one.

 Hehe, sorry if I am telling you guys old news. I never played much with the editor of SH2 and dont even have SH3, so this certainly was a good piece of news for me. But yes, I am getting into it a bit an I like what I see. At the end I think we will find that this editor will be quite easy to use.

As I was playing around with the map editor this eveing, I found something really cool: In the map editor you can rotate objects into any direction. For example, you can place gates at a 45? angle, to match with the diagonal walls. But you can really place objects in any rotation you like and even tilt or re-size them. This should be particularly useful for decorative objects, like statues, barrels etc. To do that, you have to select the object by Ctrl-clicking on it and then open the object tab at the right side of the screen. You can then type in the numbers directly there. The attached picture should demonstrate how it can be done.

Hi Chris, I have seen some forums where they have a Top button at the bottom of the screen. Just to allow you to jump right to the top of a long thread page. It's no big deal, but I have always found this button very helpful to go back to the OP after a long read. If it can be implemented without too much trouble - great. If not, never mind.

The most intreaguing new thing I have read about (not yet found in pracitce) is the fact that villlages now recruit their own troops. Apparently they will defend the villlage and can be controlled by whoever is the current owner of the estate. I have not seen it, simply because I haven't gotten round to playing a map with a village on it, yet. But it sure sounds interesting.

Intresting hobby - Eagle Prince ;) I got the game - not much experience with it yet, but yea, I do have it.

Alas, I probably won't be able to make it on Friday. But thanks for hosting. I am sure there will be enough other occasions. Tue. Wed. Thurs. are the best gaming days for me.

Stronghold Crusader 2 map in downloads section
Nigel replied to EaglePrince's topic in Site Questions and Support
I had not realized you can freely choose the version of your SH2 game and switch between them. Is that right? If so, it would be really cool. I had thought the updater forces to play the highest available version. But indeed a very nice signature pic, Eagle Prince. Compliments. -
You can find it in : Tools/Edit scenario

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Thank's for the invitation, Mathew. Unfortunately (or fortunately) my weekends are usually spent with my RL friends and family. And this Saturday in particular, we are having guests at home. Weekday evenings are my best times for playing.

Thanks for the review, Matthew. I went and got the game yesterday, although I usually don't buy on day 1 to spare myself the woes of the bug-fixing period. But yesterday I just felt like it and gave it a shot. I can say that so far I have not regretted it. Sure, there are now lots of complaints about bugs on the official website. And some players must have been in really bad luck with getting permanent crashes. Well, maybe I am just lucky but my game runs fairly enjoyable. I played through the tutorial and one small campaign yesterday without real any issues. Trying multiplayer, I got kicked out of the lobby a few times (not sure if a bug or if I really got kicked by the host) and in the lobby my game did crash once yesterday and once again today. But the next try I got into a 2v2 game and it ran stable and without any lag throughout the whole game (about 2h). It was a nice match, too. I was the first lord to be eliminated, but that's not the point (and not unexpected either - I am not terribly good at MP, medicore at best). But with some help from my ally I was able to put up a good fight and the other team needed 2 or 3 attempts to break through eventually. I stayed on to watch as they ganged up upon my ally and after a long siege he spectacularly went down in flames - literally, since his castle was hit by lightning from a thunderstorm and he did not have enough wells to put out the spreading fire. Very good fun all in all and if FireFly can get the MP games to run reliably, this game could be a real little gem. P.S. I thought I might share this picture of the grand finale

Very nice. Good to heat that the launch was a success. I baught the game yesterday and so far I have only been able to take a short look into it. There are - of course - things that still need ot be fixed. But overall my impression is good. I spent a few happy hours with the game so far. :)

I just downloaded the manual from a link given at the official Crusader 2 site. http://forum.strongholdcrusader2.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=570 Browsing through the manual it looks really nice - like they have taken the best elements out of SH2 and SHL (estate capturing, marketplace, unit formations) and combined them with the old Crusader.

Nice to have the IDs in one place. Mine is: Nigel 5638690

Cool, that seems to have worked :) Now I guess I need to build up my friends list. I go by the nickname of Nigel ... my Gameranger ID? I still need to figure out where to find that ...

I finally tried to install game ranger, but hit a problem. When I run it, it tells me that the Flash Player plug in is required. It directs me to a website with Abode Flash Player, but that website tells me that with Windows 8, Flash Player is already included in the Explorer browser. And rightly, if I look it up in the "Extras" menue, I see that Flash Player is there and activated. But Gameranges still says that it requires the add on. Any thoughts on what I could do?

Stronghold Crusader Extreme; September 9, 2014
Nigel replied to EaglePrince's topic in Gaming Events
Seems you guys were having fun :D I like those coop games and will be glad to take part one of these days. Don't have SHC Extreme, though, so it will have to be one of the others. My current favourite is SHL. Will take me a while to get set up - I am currently on vacation. But I will let you know when I am ready to do some multiplayer. -
Hi guys, Resurrecting my old Stronhold games, I re-started Stronghold Legends. The SP game works all right, but I could not get any MP game to work. In fact when I try to open MP, it takes a while and then just comes with a message that Multiplayer is currently not available. I admit, I have not played SHL MP for years. So I wonder if it has somehow been deactivated. Or is it just my new PC that is not set up right for it? It would be a shame, because SHL was one of the best in the series in terms of multiplayer features and playability.

Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen, and thank you for having this open and comfortable inn to rest and reside. Allow me to introduce myself: Nigel Loring at your service. I came here following a post at the official Stronhold Forum. An old time patron of the Dancing Bear Inn at the once proud StrongholdKnights, I sadly learned that that site is no longer active. So I am glad that I have found what seems to be a friendly and active community. I look forward to getting back into the game and having some fun again, Nigel
