Missing Hall of Heroes Reports / World Data

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I’m trying to understand what has happened to a large number of older Hall of Heroes reports/pages that were previously accessible.

While working on an archive of historical Stronghold Kingdoms world information, I found that approximately 270 Hall of Heroes URLs are no longer accessible. I have compiled the missing URLs into files and will attach them to this post so the affected pages can be checked directly.

These appear to be older Hall of Heroes pages associated with different worlds and/or ages. The URLs themselves follow the normal Hall of Heroes structure, but the corresponding reports are no longer being returned.

From what I have been able to investigate, including checking how Google previously indexed some of these pages, it appears that the Hall of Heroes information may be generated from data stored on the server rather than being ordinary static webpages. Because of that, I am wondering whether the missing pages indicate that the underlying records have been removed, archived, moved, or simply become inaccessible through the old URLs.

I would really appreciate clarification from anyone familiar with how the Hall of Heroes system works, particularly on the following points:

  • Are these reports temporarily unavailable, or has the historical data been permanently removed?
  • Have older Hall of Heroes records been moved or archived somewhere else?
  • If they were intentionally removed, was there a particular reason—for example, database maintenance, changes to world IDs, retirement of old worlds, or changes to the Hall of Heroes system?
  • Is there currently another way to access the Hall of Heroes records for these missing worlds?
  • If the information is still retained internally, is there any possibility that these historical records could become accessible again in the future?

My main interest here is historical preservation. Some of these worlds represent many years of Stronghold Kingdoms history, and the Hall of Heroes provides a useful record of the houses and players that participated in and won those worlds. If the old reports are disappearing permanently, it would be useful to know so that the remaining publicly available information can be properly archived while it still exists.

I am not trying to access anything private or circumvent the website. I am only interested in understanding the status of information that was previously publicly available through the Hall of Heroes.

I have attached my list of the roughly 270 missing URLs to make investigation easier.

If anyone from Firefly, or anyone familiar with the technical history of the Hall of Heroes, can explain what happened to these records and whether there is a legitimate way to retrieve or view them, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Hi @ Persicus !

Welcome to the site. Though I myself am not familiar with SHK's features at all, I could trace back a random Hall of Heroes report with the help of Wayback Machine.

For the entry "https://www.strongholdkingdoms.com/glory/HoH.php?worldid=100&age=3" I could get back captures with a content like this:

The root Hall of Heroes site is still operational too on the live SHK domain, however I found that some entries there also got broken. I suppose with Wayback machine you can check most of the captures at the relevant times, even if it's a kinda menial effort... 🙂

I will email someone I know from Firefly and see if they can post a response to this.

They have advised it’s best to contact Firefly support, who should be able to help. Please let me know if you get a response, it would be good to get a resolution on this.

Hello everyone, I'm building a massive and detailed map and everything was going fine. Then on my last map test I noticed that characters were floating, and in-building animations were also missing. The carters post horse and wagon move as normal but everything else is affected. I'm not sure exactly when it happened. I have a rough idea because I added a decent amount of smoke, steam and bubbling effects in a swamp section. Afterwards I added a lot of grass and bog plants from the 3rd sc

I don't mean for this to get political, as the topic itself is irrelevant. Allow me to give the backstory. Today, I was called racist and a white supremacist today by my Religious Education teacher. I don't study the subject, however, she was in the class as we were working. The argument started when a friend of mine shouted out, jokingly, "Tom hates Islam". The teacher, who admitted herself she's read "some" of the Quran, proceeds to tell me how it's peaceful etc etc. She then manipulated my se

    • Why does everyone in the world seem so angry?

The world is divided. People are more extreme, everybody hates each other. Globalization is probably the cause for everybody's disdain. Want proof? Look at the United States. You have the living embodiment of anger as the sole leader of the world's super-power. This election caused everyone to move towards polar opposite spectrum of the belief system. It's not even worth having civil discussions anymore, because you're just gonna be called a bigot.   ? ? ? Now that I just lied to you, you're gon
