  1. How about playing this one on Wednesday instead? I am unsure about Thursday, while some of my obligations from Wednesday delayed to Thursday.
  2. But I believe you can give a player a tiny castle estate, this way he just unpauses the game, and goes on to fight. Can't that do the job? Also, his castle and the lord wouldn't appear as the estate is too small for that (2x2 squares).
  3. So, for now I believe the three of us are sure up for this game, but hopefully there will be others who will also be willing to join the fight. :)
  4. Sure. I will make now another event for that. By the way, now I found out that I will have to be at university at Thursday afternoon, but I hope I won't come home late. Still, even if I do come some time later on Thursday, I believe Tokamaps would be also willing to play on both days. That is why I scheduled this event for Saturday, I didn't forget about you. :)
  5. Hey, guys! We were talking about playing a game these days, so I decided to make the first of those Stronghold 2 events. I spoke with Tokamaps this evening, and we would both like to play his map first, The Chokepoint Island. I have given you the link by which you can download the map if you want to see the map before he submits it to the Downloads Central. Regarding time and date, Saturday would suit us both, and hopefully it will work well for others too. I set it to 19:00 by Central European timezone, but if you would feel better if it was differently feel free to tell. If there are those who would be easier to join if it was on a working day, I'd make another event for working day if others agree, and we could play both times. In that case I would hope that to be Thursday, though I should be free on Friday as well, but then it is more likely for me not to make it. :)
  6. I was only trying to edit the entry, I wasn't submitting another one. I'll see first if this one which is approved at this moment is the fixed version. EDIT: Yes, it is the right version now. Thanks. :)
  7. Now I don't see the map in downloads section. Do I resubmit the map?
  8. O tried to update the file, but I'm getting an error message. It says:
  9. I'm glad that you think that. :) Also I would enjoy playing on any position. When you have the time let me know. Same applies to others. Thanks. That will be the simplest thing to do.
  10. I am sure that I know how I could fix that. Now the only two estates that didn't have stockpiles are those that were tiny while I was doing that thing with outlaws. So, one thing that would certainly do the job would be putting no village flags on the map before I do the thing with outlaws, so the trick, and then mark the villages and all of the estates with flags. Only I will not do that with this map because I would be doing all that only to give those outlaws a gate - I just think that's too much work for a tiny detail.
  11. Unfortunately I messed up the map now, but I kept one of the previous version for backup... Now outlaws can use the gate, but villages are messed up. All estates are village estates except for two of them, and those village estates have stockpile built and other stuff including the people. So, I gave up of that gate, the castle is as it was before, but I know how to do similar things in future which is great.
  12. I've submitted another version. The one I submitted few ours ago had some issues, so I reversed to an older one. Now it is almost the same as original, only one village in north will produce iron instead of tree food types. Chris, I have submitted that bad version to Downloads Central? Could you approve this "fixed version" instead, or should I submit the map again?
  13. I have submitted the new version to Downloads Central, and I have also uploaded it to this post as attachment.
  14. Yes, it does work, you only need to make tiny territory for the player, 2x2 squares, and put the castle flag there. It asks you to build a stockpile, but you can simply unpause the game by pressing P on keyboard, and do with your troops (which you added on the map in the editor) whatever you like.
  15. Thanks, Nigel, I'm glad you like my map. :) And yes, I hope we would play some of them online too! Speaking about my map, it may be less interesting one for multiplayer because of the balance, but if you wouldn't mind, I would be happy if we played my map as well. I mean, it's just the fact that those lord in north-west have more resources and lords in the east. That's because I had in mind a singleplayer map in which you would choose between positions in south-east, which would be easier, and in north-east, which would be harder. And of course, don't take wrong when I say this - one could understand that I want to say "please, let's play another map in multiplayer", but it's definitely not the case, and I would be happy if we played it. Only I understand that you may have more fun in multiplayer with Tokamaps map. :) Oh, and I have another idea for a multiplayer map. In fact, now I have two ideas, but maybe those two ideas could be implemented into one map. :) EDIT: And regarding your map, I like the design, only you didn't have enough time to make some more details. If you want I would encourage you do some more work on the map, so it would be even better. :) I myself did the same with mine now, which you could have noticed in Stronghold 2 section. I made a small correction - one village was set to produce food only, while it had iron. Now it will produce iron. And another thing - I managed to add a gate to outlaws castle near the coast, and outlaws are able to leave or enter the castle through that gate. Players are unable to enter the castle unless they destroy the wall or something like that. :)
  16. Yes, I do have the stairs. :) And I made it. :D It's a little bit differently than you described right not, but it's the same thing. I did what I mentioned with knights, I lured those outlaws on top of the gatehouse, then I saved the game, and then I went back into the editor to remove those knights. Besides this I reduced two castle estates so I wouldn't have any AI buildings to remove in the editor - the same thing with tiny estates I saw in the article Chris showed me. After removing those knights I also got those two estates to original size, and then I saved the map again. I also tried to remove those few outlaws that showed up at each outlaw camp on the map, but after that the game would crash each time I try to save the map later. So I left it as it is, now outlaws seem to have tiny advantage over players, as they had started to show up some 10 seconds before the game started, or maybe more. I believe this won't be a problem. EDIT: This way, when I make two tiny estates, the lord and the keep don't show up at all. The game just starts, it says to me to place the stockpile, but I just unpaused the game, and moved on playing around with those knights luring outlaws on the gate.
  17. Now I tried what you described Tokamaps, but it didn't work for me. I tried it on a blank map, and I tried it on my map as well. I can drag the outlaw, but I am unable to bring him on top of the gate (same with walls and towers). I even tried to leave ladders so outlaw could climb the gate, but no success. I cannot command the ladderman to bring ladders to the wall. On the other hand, now I did see how I can make ruins on the map. :) Hmm, on the other hand, maybe there is another way - to provoke the outlaw to come on the gate. I could try that with placing a knight there, and I hope one of the outlaw would come to attack him (which would be easier done if they weren't able to throw spears)... By now outlaws were able to go on the gate, but they "didn't know" that this way they will be able to leave the castle and attack me. They need some motivation to go there. :)
  18. I will try this. I have already made a tiny change to my map. I have noticed that I have set a village which as iron to produce only food. That's not an issue for human players, but it was supposed to be fixed because of AI lords. I will see if I can do this with the gate as well. So, as I have changed the map, and I don't plan to change the name of the map, I hope that those who already have the older version on their PC's will download the new one and update the version. Thanks for helping with this. The articles Chris showed right now is going to be really helpful. :) I only hope I will be able to move that outlaw on top of the gate. :) I shall see.
  19. I agree, it is a special feeling when you play such a game for the first time, but in my case - it was my second Stronghold, and when I played those missions, I also had more fun then with Crusader missions. Of course, at this point I am talking about Crusader campaigns, while I had way more fun in Crusader Trail. I just like those missions where I need to rebuild a castle, or to build it out of nothing. In other words - invasions and skirmish. :) You did fine job with those first missions, sir.
  20. Thanks for suggestion, it's never too late.:) I will try what you suggested. I'm only not sure hope to do the trick you mentioned, but I assume that I can find information about that here at the forum or within the articles.
  21. Congratulations Tokamaps for this victory! Like you can conclude from my first feedback for your map, I also agree that your map is better then mine - I like the design of the map in general and I like how you made the landscape so beautiful. It is a deserved victory. For myself, I am happy that I made this map of mine. I enjoyed making it, and I am glad that I remade the map I long lost, and that in a way that I no longer feel sorry for losing it. For that I am thankful to Chris and others who made this contest happen which motivated me to start working on it. Also, another good part of it all is that this contest was right after I passed my exam, so I was able to participate. :) EDIT: Do I submit the map to downloads central? :) I mean, it won't be done automatically, or something like that? I wouldn't expect that, but I ask just in case.
  22. Interesting, you are correct. Now I tried following the same link on the browser and it worked fine. It should be something about the mail client on my phone then or it could be about the browser, I'll try out some stuff with that. smile Maybe copy/paste the address would work. And now I tried it. Copy/paste works fine, but taping the link doesn't. I'll keep that in mind for the following email notifications.
  23. Me too, thanks for the nice feedback. Regarding square estate borders, I agree, it would look more natural, only I decided to keep them square for the same reasons you mentioned. Somehow I became more tolerant to square borders, I got feeling that those doesn't have to matter much, though I may not be right f course. Now when you mentioned it - maybe I could have made those borders more natural at least in the north-west where estates are all close to each other. I'm glad that you like how I made the landscape and that you like that idea with outlaws. I was thinking about outlaws before while thinking about a good multiplayer map. Those outlaws can give us natural way to bring us a natural no rush period - no one would attack until he is able to defeat the outlaws, and that wouldn't be before players have enough archers or stronger melee troops.
  24. Hi. This is the message I get in the email notification. When I tap on the link it says "the requested URL was not found on the server. I can show a screenshot of it could be helpful. EDIT: Just so you wouldn't get me wrong. I just wanted to point it out in case you haven't noticed that, I don't mean to be the one who complains about everything. :D
  25. Well, you make good maps in general, and I like when I can play a game on a map and enjoy. That is indeed for what Stronghold 2 is the best of all Stronghold games, and especially with a right map. Besides this map I remember that you have submitted some other maps of yours as well, and I planned to play them, but then obligations... And I still want to play them, and I will - by the time. I agree, it would be fun to play it in multiplayer. I find the position in south-west quite interesting, so I could be there. I don't care too much about balance - you have some advantages, I have some other advantages, and that's what makes it more interesting. By the way, in those games you told about - you start as free map, right? I had feeling that with these settings Bull could take down William by not letting to grow stronger... I guess I was wrong, though I have noticed that some of those limitations regarding rank don't apply to computer players like on human - they are able to build stone walls from the very beginning for example.
