The standard and special editions of Crusader 2 can be pre-purchased on Steam, the Humble Store, GetGames and Amazon, with other online retailers soon to be added. Following the release of our ?Meet the Rat? AI video in June, many players were quick to ask if the other ?Big Four? Stronghold characters would return in Crusader 2. Today we have a trio of announcements to make: Pre-orders are now open, there is a brand new trailer of the game at beta stage and The Wolf will return! The team was in agreement that it simply would not be a Stronghold game without a certain lovable medieval psychopath and, while he won?t be the focus of the story this time around, The Wolf will be big part of the game.

 

The Stronghold community has requested a number of different features over the past year and although we cannot implement each and every one there are certain things that make a Stronghold game. The Wolf is the kind of character that Stronghold players love to siege. Who are we to take that away from them?

 

We want players to have plenty of new features and characters to play with, but there will also be certain options and characters like The Wolf that allow fans to set up more classic style games. We know there are people out there who want to recreate Crusader 1 style skirmish games in Crusader 2 and we want give them the characters and options needed to do that. We?re all PC gamers at Firefly. We know the importance of being able to tweak gameplay settings to suit a particular style of play.
