‘’GWRAGEDD ANNWN’’

The ‘’Gwragedd Annwn’’ were said to be ‘’Lake Maidens’’ in Welsh Mythos. These Fairy Beings were (by and large), invisible to the Human eye. Living deep beneath Lakes and Rivers, They are often ‘’shy’’ to Contact. When They are ‘’seen’’, The Gwragedd Annwn are simple ‘’splashes of Light’’.  In a common Origin Tale, The Annwn were said to have been once Humans, but were Pagan. When St. Patrick came by their waterside community of Llyn Barfog – they chastised and taunted Him. He ‘’cursed’’ the community, which ‘’became’’ The Fairy Species henceforth.

‘’JINNIYYAT’’

Many Middle Eastern Cultures are well familiar with the often ‘’Evil’’ Species of The Djinn. But these are strictly Male Entities. When a Female is so cursed to a ‘’Life’’ of ‘’Demonic Servitude’’, They are referred to as a’Jinniyyat’’. As stated, a myriad of causes can ‘’create’’ a Jinniyyat. Perhaps a Female who was cruel or unfaithful, etc. Once ‘’made’’ (thru magic), They can be even more cunning and Evil than their Male counterparts. They often use their ‘’feminine charms’’ (being quite beautiful) – to ensnare wayward Men. It is commonly thought that Jinniyyat collect The Souls of Their Victims. Once a number is reached (only known to The Jinniyyat) – They can be released from Their Curse.

‘’AZOVKA’’

In The Urals of Russia, The Tale of The ‘’Girl of Mount Azov’’ or simply – ‘’Azovka’’ is a very old one. ‘’She’’ is said to be part Ghost Story and part Mythology. Dating to the 11th Century AD, a Tartar Princess was abandoned on The Mountain, along with Her dowry (which was said to be immense). The Princess was forced into an arranged marriage and was quite beside Herself. Every night, while She waited in Her Cave with Her riches, (waiting to be taken by her Betrothed) – She would cry and cry. In time, for some unknown reason, Her marriage was forgotten and The Princess was left (to die assumedly). The treasure still waits to be claimed it is said. But The Princess still haunts the Lost Cave of Treasure. Unknown as to it’s exact whereabouts, on certain  nights – a ‘’moaning’’ can be heard from ‘’somewhere’’ on The Mountain. It is said to locate the source, is to locate the Treasure. (Perhaps It Is Only The Wind, Afterall!)

‘’ZAGAN’’

Another ‘’High Ranking’’ Demonic Lord of Hell – ‘’Zagan’’ is classified as a ‘’President’’ (with other Medieval works assigning Him as ''King’’. Commanding (33) Legions, Zagan can turn ‘’Oil into Blood’’ and the reverse. When invoked, He can transform simple unprocessed Gold or Silver into Minted Coin. However, the price for His abilities is that – more than likely, People will ‘’see’’ His Conjurer as a ‘’Fool’’ and never taken seriously.

‘’VALEFOR’’

‘’Valefor’’ is a Duke of Hell, who is also Patron of Thieves. Invoking Him allows Thieves to steal without ever being caught. However, such Thieves will never again be able to tell a Lie. As One can imagine, once such ARE caught, they ‘’confess’’ to Their Crimes (and thus ensure a ‘’fast ride’’ to Perdition for their ‘’Pact’’).

‘’THE DEVIL’S SCOURGE’’

Long said to be a ‘’fictionized’’ Tool within Satanic Groups, The ‘’Devil’s Scourge’’ is said to be more of a Neo-Pagan ‘’device’’. As with a ‘’common’’ Scourge Whip, used to beat a Victim (as in Flagellation) – The ‘’Pagan’’ version is used to ‘’beat’’ any remaining ‘’Human emotion’’ relating to kindness or ‘’Good’’. An Initiate was Scourged to a point of possible death by a Coven Master. Taken to ‘’the brink’’ (as it were), The Initiate had to ‘’beg’’ for ‘’Salvation’’ from Lucifer. Some other versions of this ‘’Ritual’’ was not to illicit The Devil’s patronage, but to ensure complete loyalty to One’s Coven.

‘’SITRI’’

‘’Sitri’’ is classified as a ‘’Great Prince’’ of Hell. A ‘’Lord of Lust’’, invoking Him often causes ‘’unnatural’’ love for the opposite of One’s Sex. In this information, His Adherents can use such knowledge to blackmail or control others. Sitri was so summoned as a revenge against cruel Priests or Nuns.

‘’DANTALION’’

With the overall Command of no less than (72) Demonic Legions – ‘’Dantalion’’ is a Duke in The Realm of Perdition. He has the ability to tempt anyone with images of lust and ‘’pleasures of the flesh’’. Knowing what all Persons think, Dantalion is oft portrayed in Art as having ‘’many heads or faces’’, each reflecting a particular vice or wanton desire.

‘’FLAUROS’’

A Duke in Hell – ‘’Flauros’’ is in Command of (33) Hellish Legions of The Damned. Able to give His Initiates the ‘’power’’ to burn (with fire), He is also can give One the ability to withstand  similar attacks by fire – leveled against His ‘’Chosen’’.  Often personified in Art as a ‘’Leopard’’ with ‘’long, sharp claws’’, He also a ‘’Demon Destroyer’’. If a Conjuror is likewise attacked by an Enemies Demon, Flauros will ‘’defend them’’.

''JOUGS''

Popular in 14th Scotland, The Netherlands and eventually other Kingdoms and Nations, Jougs were iron collars which were placed around the neck of an Accused person. The Joug was secured to a wall by a chain (of varying lengths). They could be used in Dungeons or out in Public “Circuses” that featured humiliations and Execution practices (as part of the punishment). They were either made loose fitting or form fitting (again depending on taste). Because of their iron construction, the later term of “clamping in Irons”, derived from The Jougs.

''SCAPHISM''

Designed by The Greeks (and used against their Persian enemies), the process of Scaphism is another “top ranking” gruesome way to die. Known as the “Death of Milk and Honey”, the Victim was strapped to a small boat. He would be force fed copious amounts of milk and honey (so much so that the Victims would have severe bouts of diarrhea – fouling themselves). This process was repeated over and over again. This would attract insects (by the thousands). Finally, honey would poured over the Victim and they would be set afloat. The victim would slowly be eaten alive by the insect life! Often, the procedure took several days of bringing the victim back onto shore and REPEATING the method! More often the victim died from septic shock and dehydration (long before the insects). Other variations included the strapping the victim to a tree and covering them with honey. Bees or Wasp Nests would be placed around the feet. Next, the hives would be smashed – causing the insects to sting the person slowly to eventual death.

''KNOUT WHIP''

Designed in Russia around the 14th Century, a Knout was akin to the Ancient Roman Scourge. The handle was made of wood (and was around 10 to 15-inches long (wrapped in leather for “grip”). The lashes of the Whip were long pieces of rawhide that extended in sections – upwards to 1.5 to 2 feet long. At the end of each section, was an attached metal ring. Attached to the end of this – was another piece of rawhide. This “process” went on until a 10 to 15 foot Whip was created. In theory, when “chastised”, a person was not only “cut” by the rawhide, but “battered” with the many small metal rings! This Torture/Punishment (and some did die as a result), was reserved for Prostitutes, Thieves and even accused Witches. The Knout Whip did travel to Spain, Germany and England – as well.

‘’THE SHADOW PEOPLE OF HIROSHIMA’’

The Product Exhibition Hall, located near the very center of The City of Hiroshima, Japan looks strangely out of date today. A shell of a building in ruins, the massive 1915 constructed structure was used to house industrial exhibits and foster trade within Japan and other Countries. But on the morning of August 6th, 1945 - at exactly 8:15 AM, The US Military dropped the first Atomic Weapon (Bomb) on The City, to hopefully force Japan into surrender and thus end 4 years of bloody World War. At a height of 790-feet, an explosive device equivalent to 15,000-tons of TNT detonated – and forever changed The World and how future Wars would be fought. The Atomic Bomb, was seen as a ‘’City Killer’’. It did just that. Over 2-square miles were incinerated by a blast (heat) wave of over 10,000 degrees. Over 6,000 Humans were killed, instantly (vaporized), with untold hundreds of thousands perishing from the sort and long terms effects of radiation. But it is the ‘’fire ball’’ initially generated in which our Tale unfolds.

After Japan surrendered days later, Scientific Teams began to collect date ‘’on the ground’’. As information was collected, most Survey Teams noted the appearances of strange ‘’shadows’’ – seemingly burned into surviving concrete and stone in The City. Given the distinct shapes of the shadows, the very real nature of ‘’what’’ Teams were looking at was made known. In short, these were the shadows of Humans and everyday objects burned into stone at the very second of their ‘’vaporization’’ from the intense generated heat. Be it an ‘’Old Man walking with a cane’’ or perhaps a Person simply ‘’sitting on steps’’ – the ‘’everyday Life’’ of Hiroshima was forever etched into stone. The ghastly ’Shadow People of Hiroshima’’ – as they would become known, would serve as the real answer to future Wars – or rather, to never again use such devastating weaponry as Atomic (Nuclear) Bombs. This is the real reason as well that The Exhibition Building was preserved and let to stand….as a Memorial and warning of such ‘’folly’’.  While much of The ‘’Shadow People’’ were preserved via film and photograph, most of ‘’Them’’ were destroyed when The City began to rebuild itself after The War. However, some few ‘’pieces’’ were saved and are still on display inside the rather grim and retrospective Museum inside The Memorial.

‘’THE SAQQARA BIRD’’

The mysterious and still unexplained Artifact was discovered in 1898 in Saqqara, Egypt. The Site, long puzzle to archaeologists, had yielded some amazing and baffling finds. The Artifact is called ‘’The Bird of Saqqara’’, dates to 200 BC. Made of wood, the odd thing is that the piece is completely aerodynamically ‘’sound’’ and is light enough to be thrown into the air to ‘’glide’’. What Ancient Child would have need of such a Toy? Or perhaps, as some claim, The ‘’Saqqara Bird’’ was never intended to be a Toy – but a functional Model, of a much larger ‘’Glider’’. Shaped like a Bird, perhaps the ‘’original’’ could carry Humans in flight……..(Perhaps…..)

‘’CILICE’’

A highly controversial Ritual and accompanying Device, A ‘’Cilice’’  (which falls into the classification of ‘’Self-Mortification’’) is a type of form fitting metal chain band, fastened to the thigh of a Religious (Ordained or Secular). The Chain Band has small semi-sharpened ridges or studs applied. When a Person, walks or thru purpose, clinches His or Her leg muscles, the studs ‘’dig into the flesh’’ (causing discomfort and pain). It is thru this ‘’Act’’, that a ‘’serious’’ Religious can ‘’experience’’ Christ’s ‘’suffering’’ during His ‘’Passion’’ (Execution). Although widely decried by the current Catholic Church, some Religious Orders may still use The Cilice. An example would the ultra-fanatical ‘’Opus Dei’’ Order.

‘’SPUNGNA’’

Another form of Christian ‘’Self-Mortification’’ Practice, the seldom seen (but still used) ‘’Spungna’’ is a circular shaped cork device, held in the hand of an Adherent to the Practice. The cork is studded with small metal bars (sharpened in some cases). As a Practitioner follows a Procession, They  ‘’strike’’ Their Chest with The Spungna (causing pain). After several hours or subjecting Themselves to The Spunga, serious tissue damage is created. The Practice is done, especially during The Easter Christian Season, to draw attention to ‘’what’’ The Messiah – Jesus Christ -  suffered during His Execution. The Spungna (found mostly practiced in smaller Northern Italian Towns) – is outlaws by The Catholic Church (but still used by ‘’serious’’ Believers in the Ritual).

‘’THE MYSTERY OF YONAGUMI’’

Located off The Coast of Japan’s Ryukyu Islands, is a very strange, submerged Artifact. Known as The ‘’Yonagumi Monument’’, the large stone slabs are roughly, 1,200-feet below the surface. The stones, which appear to be a form of ‘’structure’’ or ‘’platform’’, are estimated to be 3,000 years old. Some Archaeologists assign an even farther date, 10 to 15,000 years. Nothing is known of who carved it or why. In some circles, it is widely accepted that The Yonagumi Structure was probably on land (Coast), but due to some ‘’calamity’’, it and The Coastline ‘’sank’’. Some Scholars who follow The ‘’Lost Lemuria’’ or ‘’Mu’’ Mythos, state that Yonagumi was part of that long extinct and hyper-advanced Culture. The stones of Yonagumi are cut to such precision – that the structure could NOT be duplicated with such exactness today – EVEN with Modern technology. Conventional Science states that ‘’Ocean Current’’ carved the intricate designs and angles.

‘’THE LEGEND OF THE SILVER BRANCH’’

A staple in Celtic Mythology – The Tale of The ‘’Silver Branch’’ tells of a Gift given to King Ban (said to have ruled Ireland in the 7th Century AD). A ‘’Good Ruler’’ who was just to all, He was approached by the mysterious ‘’Fairy Folk’’ of  Tr Na Nog (or ‘’The Otherworld’’). The Gift was a solid Silver Tree Branch. This was a type of ''Key’’ which would ‘’access’’ The Otherworld (thru which no Mortal could pass – in Life). Ban was trusted enough to maintain The Silver Branch – or so it was thought. In Legend, Bran sought to use The Key to summon ‘’great power against His Enemies’’. As such, The Fairy Folk were able to intervene and cause The Branch to become invisible. It will remain as such UNTIL a ‘’wise and honest’’ Ruler gains The Ancient Throne of Ireland.

‘’ZIPACNA’’

A ‘’Demon’’ Deity in ancient Mayan Mythology – ’Zipacna’’ was said to have been ‘’Creator of Mountains’’. Important, in that Mountains were revered in Mesoamerican Culture as being ‘’Home to The Gods’’. In fact, any Temples or Shrines built (which were seen as emulating a Mountain), were dedicated to Zipacna. He was also (later) associated with Death and His Cult received many Human sacrifices.

‘’MAXIMON’’

An unusual Deity in Mayan Folk Culture, ‘’Maximon’’ was ‘’created’’ from a fusion of Ancient Mesoamerican Mythos and The Catholicism brought with The Occupying Spanish Force. Said to be a ‘’paradox’’. Maximon was a ‘’Womanizer’’, but was a Protector of Married Couples. He was said to be responsible ‘’inciting’’ many rebellions and revolts by The Native Peoples and The Spanish. An Icon was crafted (first reported by Spanish Soldiers in the 17th Century AD), which was a ‘’Little Native Man’’, wearing a traditional striped Tilma (Robe). Maximon also wears a Hat. Everytime such Icons were captured by The Spanish and destroyed (broken up or burned), They would ‘’magically reappear’’ somewhere else. This lead to the mystique of Moximon and His ‘’protection’’ of The Downtrodden and poor against Their ‘’Oppressors’’. Traditionally, even today, many small Villages in and around Guaremala – have a Shrine to The Folk Spirit and often celebrate Moximon during Christian Holy Week.

‘’FUXI’’

From Chinese Mythology – ‘’Fuxi’’ was The ‘’Original Man’’ – created by ‘’The Gods’’. He is first found in Chinese Literature as far back as 2,000 BC. He and His Wife, Nuwa were also credited with establishing the first Marriage (and set the pattern for all future Ceremonies enjoyed by Man and Woman). Fuxi was also responsible for the creation of Music – which was used to ‘’please The Gods’’.

‘’THE DINOSAUROID’’

A Long conjectured Theory among some Scientists – a ‘’Dinosauroid’’ is the name applied to the theoretical ‘’Creature’’, thought to be the evolutionary ‘’end’’ to Dinosaurian development. It is thought that6 – had the ‘’Mass Extinction Event’’ of 66 Million years ago NOT happened (eg ‘’Meteor Impact), some species of Dinosaurs may have evolved into a ‘’Reptilian-Humanoid’’ type Creature. Walking erect on two legs and a much higher evolved Brain that a traditional ‘’Reptile’’, The ‘’Dinosauroid’’ would have become (perhaps), the dominate form of Life on Earth. This is based on the fact that Mammilian Life would NOT have evolved (forced or otherwise) to a state of ‘’what’’ Humankind evolved from. While only a few species are thought to have been ‘’candidates’’ for this type of evolution – One must wonder, IF The Dinosauroids evolved as such – what ‘’Music, Art and Culture’’ would have developed in place of a ‘’Human’’ Form. The speculated ‘’Beings’’ are also linked to the MANY Urban Legends of Modern Times, as well as Ancient Mythology, again causing One to wonder – ‘’maybe’’ They DID.

‘’BASAN’’

From Japanese Mythos – The ‘’Basan’’ was said to be a Harbinger of ‘’Death’’. Said to be a ‘’Rooster-like’’ Entity, The Basan ‘’blew Blue Mist-like Flames’’ from it’s beak. But this ‘’fire’’ was not hot, but cold. It made a strange call when flying over Villages. IF a Human ‘’heard’’ The Basan, it was from that Person’s Family that Death was approaching. Later variations of The Basan has it’s portrayal as being entirely Red in color, but still with the same Blue ‘’Otherworldly’’ Flame. It’s origins are unknown, but it’s Mythos starts around the 15th Century AD.

‘’THE DUTCH DOLL OF FINEDON’’

An interesting ‘’Urban Legend’’, The ‘’Dutch Doll’’ was said to be an early 18th Century AD wooden ‘’Peg Doll’’, brought Home to Finedon, Northhamptonshire, England. The Doll, dressed in then ‘’traditional Dutch Dress’’, found it’s way as a gift, to a Girls School there. The Doll was placed over the Main Entrance Door. Well until 1981, The Doll was said to ‘’move it’s arms and legs around’’ – when someone knocked or gained entry thru The Door. This led to many tales of ‘’supernatural phenomenon’’ regarding The Doll. Most assumed that ‘’The Doll’’ was attached to some sort of mechanism which ‘’activated’’ when The Door ‘’opened’’ (but no proof of this exists either). In 1981, when The School closed and moved, someone stole the long lasting fixture, leading most to assume some sort of ‘’curse’’ would befall the new School. To date, nothing has ''happened'' and the whereabouts of The ‘’Dutch Doll’’ is currently unknown.
