Offering help with creating good looking signatures using GIMP

I am creating this tread in order to help others in creating good looking banners. It is something that may concern with competitions for best signatures of the month, but it doesn't have to. What is my goal is to help everyone to create a good looking signature, and for that reason I proposed "soldiers from Stronghold" to be the theme of the competition, as I hope everyone will be able to easily create a nice banner.

 

Image manipulation program I am recommending is GIMP, as it is free, easy to use, and it has many useful features. By those, I think it is a lot similar to Corel PhotoPaint or Adobe PhotoShop, although I cannot say it is better than those two. Another program I use for this is Corel PhotoPaint, so if you need any help with that program, I could help you there as well.

 

I hope you all will feel free to ask any question you want. I'm not an expert, but I hope I could help.

      As some of you may know, there are two versions of Stronghold 2: the Standard edition and the Deluxe edition.
